By the second week of the unit we had established our group and agreed on the subject of our documentary. Annie first suggested the topic and Rosemary and myself were equally keen on the idea of looking at different musicians around Melbourne with a view to exposing some of the differences and similarities between musicians at every level; buskers, beginners, amateurs, professionals, singers, performers, bands, and just about any type of musician in the city.
Through documenting some of the lives and stories of our subjects we hope to expose some comparisons between different types, and look at whether all of these musicians share the same goals, as well as what visions they have for themselves and their music etc.
Moving forward we plan to reach out to musicians, buskers, and other potential subjects to begin to formulate an overall picture of our documentary and it’s message, as well as continuing our contributions to the project through our Facebook group as well as this blog, and look toward finishing our pre-production document.
