Week 5 – Anna

This week there’s a focus on what kind of documentary we are doing (as in, style) and how to interview people correctly. We’ve decided that style wise, the documentary will be casual and we’ll let the subjects speak for themselves. We (as the doco makers) will not be involved in the documentary at all, but rather be a catalyst for the subjects to talk and bring up any issues they wish to discuss, in relation to musicians in Melbourne.

We have an interview later today with a fairly successful local musician, Dan Webb, sourced by Rosemary. On top of that, the beginnings of the website are coming together, most social media are up and running and some videos are already getting editing in order to be put up on the website ASAP.

This is a link to the Facebook group we have going for anyone keen to share and discuss anything surrounding our topic.

Week 3 – Rose

Earlier this week, we began promoting our documentary project to our friends and family using Facebook. We created a Facebook Group where people could post information, music videos and other links relating to the music scene in Melbourne.

As the Facebook Group is very new, and our proposal has become more solid, people have slowly begun to show interest in what we are trying to achieve.  People have begun sharing our status updates and our group around informing their musically inclined friends (music students/singers/bands/buskers etc) and those involved in the behind-the-scenes aspects of the industry, encouraging them to participate in our project.

Once our project develops and we get more people involved, hopefully the group will become more active.
